Rooted in Dorothy Heathcote’s work, it explores techniques like Distancing in Role and Mantle of the Expert to foster creativity, empathy, and critical thinking. This Erasmus+ training course provides an in-depth exploration of drama as an educational tool. Over five days, participants engage in both theoretical and practical experiences, using drama not as a separate subject, but as a transformative approach to teaching and learning. Inspired by Dorothy Heathcote’s pedagogy, the program introduces techniques like Role Distancing, Rolling Role, and Mantle of the Expert to create immersive learning environments. These methods encourage role-taking, perspective-shifting, and collaboration, challenging traditional classroom dynamics. The course also incorporates digital tools, teaching participants to use audiovisual media in dramatic storytelling. By the end, educators will expand their drama toolkit and develop an educational mindset that values complexity, multiple perspectives, and the power of drama to bridge experience and knowledge.
Participants will have the opportunity to step outside the classroom—both literally and metaphorically.
